(oh man look at the brasilian guy talkin' about football)
Okay i know it's kinda tacky for me, the south american that was born with a soccerball on foot(ball), to talk about something like this, but listen! This whole series is an staple down here, and i want to show how amazing and f#cking bizzare and goofy this series is.
Let me start with the beninging, inazuma eleven started out has an DS rpg game based on soccer (footbal) where combat is done in matches, it then got popular and has an hand full of games and three anime adaptations. I was first introduced to this series with the original anime only later learning of the games and i encourage whoever wants to experience both, i'm going to talk more about the games since this is a game series and this thread is on the gaming chanel.
The first game trilogy is entirely in the DS (and 3DS if you want to play team ogre attacks) so it's very easy to play it thanks to... y'know...
the story revolves around mamoru endou (or mark whatever if you're bri'ish) the leader of the failing highschool team of inazuma, a team that doesn't even qualify has one sice it has only 7 playes at the start, and the story starts with your failing team getting chalenged by the most powerfull team in japan the imperial institute, and you have to find other people to join your team before the day of the game comes. One of the players that you try to convince to join the team is the transfer student shuya goenji (axel blaze) an ex soccer player at his last school but he swore off to never play soccer ever again because his younger sister got hit by an car acidentbefore an game of his, though right when your team is about to loose the big game he enters the team mid match and with his ability the "fire tornado" you are able to have an end score of 99-1... yeah you looze your first game that bad but at least you somehow sored an goal and it's thanks to this single goal taht your team gets exited to win the soccer tournament football frontier.
Okay that sounds like your usual sports anime plot, but i didn't talk about an single detail about this series to this moment, remember when i talked about goenji's "fire tornado", what is i told you that technique is him basically jumping 12 feet into the air and making and fire spiral and eventually hit the soccerball and turn it into an fireball, here's an demonstration:
and i kid you not this is probably the most tame "technique" in this game there's wilder sh*t than this, youll see people tearing entire mountains out of the ground, summoning an demon to stop an technique called "GOD KNOWS" wich envolves the character sprouting wings and sending the ball like an holly lazer beam, there's an guy that distorts space and creates an worm hole to redirect an ball straight to the ground, and more!!1! this is deffinetly the thing that got me hooked to play this game, theese can be so creative and sometimes really really dumb and the best part is that this whole magic thing is real and anyone can do this type of thing anywhere else.
but not just that the plot is just has bonkers has theese magical "techniques" like in the second game the plot revoles around aliens invading earth and destroying football teams, or how in the second trilogy they get stands and travel throught time to the point they chalenge dinosaurs to soccer matches.
i really love thisseries i just wanted to share this slightly cursed thing to all of you.
