my theory is that they're gonna play two seconds of half life and then start playing fallout: new vegas but the ai is self aware, where benny steals the platinum passport because mr. house asked him to show his passport, so gordon freeman the courier has to team up with some dummies to get it back and fight off the roman empire and the american military to choose the fate of texas

I've done some closer inspecting and it absolutely is Half-Life 2 VR.
In the intro for Half Life 2, the test chamber from HL1 is shown, but its not the exact one from HL1. It's a remade version with slightly more detail, and THAT version of the test chamber is the one used in Wayne's announcement. The background ambience is also the exact same from the Half Life 2 intro, and there are a few other elements copied from the Half Life 2 intro. I think that only showing the Half Life 1 test chamber is supposed to be a callback to HLVRAI and at the same time doesn't explicitly say that its going to be Half Life 2, but the fact that its specifically the one used in Half Life 2 and the fact that the video also copies a bunch of elements from the HL2 intro means it has to be HLVRAI2. They know they can't just release a teaser video like that and say "hey clear your plans for this specific date" (which Wayne has said on stream multiple times) for it to NOT be what they know everyone is expecting. They absolutely know what they're doing posting something like that, it's totally it.

The worst part about this, is that the 16th is the day my family planned on going to New York City for the day. I hope we're done before they start nope, I'll be getting home around 10 or 11  But I'll try to catch some whenever we stop for food |

yeah i take back all of my previous posts. i have honest to god learned a valuable lesson about SHUTTING THE FUCK UP UNTIL THE ACTUAL STREAM IS OVER. i kinda got bored after a while and was feeling stressed about the discourse on tumblr so i kinda stopped watching and did some other stuff and i quite literally JUST came back to see if the stream was still going. and well ive been played. twice in a row. really adds to the humor of it all i think. i hope the rtvs team is laughing at us they deserve only the best

shoutout to folks like me who had a whole event planned around watching hl2vrai with friends last night and it didnt happen but was still hilariously fun, and NOW i get to plan for ANOTHER gathering to watch it for real this time, whenever that happens. very excited for 2024 the Year of the RTVS Productions
